FAQ
Driven by innovation and a passion for mobility. Our trailers are
more than vehicles; they’re the start of your success story.
Each council has unique regulations regarding where you are permitted to trade. This ensures fair competition between mobile food businesses (food trucks and trailers) and fixed food establishments (cafes and restaurants).
For advice specific to your area, we recommend contacting your local council to request their regulations. This will help you plan where you can operate, whether on private land, at events and markets, or roadside.
If you wish to trade from your own property, you should contact your local council about obtaining a private land permit. This permit allows you to trade from your land or another owner’s property (with their permission). It can apply to both residential and commercial properties, as long as you comply with your local council’s regulations.
Since each council in Australia has its own regulations, it’s best to contact them directly and request the specific regulations that apply to your situation to ensure compliance.
Many people dream of towing a trailer across Australia to fund their travels – what an adventure! You will need the appropriate permits from each council where you plan to trade, so some planning ahead is required. Most travellers with a trailer choose one of three options:
- Roadside Permits: These allow you to set up and trade roadside within the regulations of the local council.
- Events and Markets Permits: These permits let you plan ahead and participate in large events and markets across the country while enjoying sightseeing along the way.
- Private Land Permits: These permits allow you to arrange with property owners to trade outside businesses like garden centres or service stations for a time before moving on. This permit also covers activities like a smoko run or coffee run to office buildings and factories, provided you have permission to park in their car park.
